Window Cleaner Charged In Westborough Jewelry Thefts (Westborough, Mass.): An Uxbridge man has been charged with stealing jewelry from two homes where he worked cleaning windows, Westborough Police reported Wednesday. Police said the first theft of diamond earrings was reported on May 15 by a Glen Street resident. The victim reported that she had a window cleaning company out of Hopedale cleaning her windows the day before. Then, on June 27, police responded to Denfeld Drive to investigate the theft of two expensive rings. They determined that the victim had hired the same window cleaning company. Det. Sgt. Glen McLeod and Det. Gary Hassett interviewed Glenn Cummings, 24, of Uxbridge, who, police said, cleaned windows at both residences. The investigation led the detectives to The Gold Loan Company in Woonsocket, R.I., and Elie Jewelers in North Attleboro. All of the stolen items were recovered.
Window Cleaner Arrested for Thefts - An Uxbridge man reportedly stole from two residences. Submitted by the Westborough Police Department. On May 15, at approximately 10 a.m., the Westborough Police Department responded to a residence on Glen Street for a reported larceny of diamond earrings. The victim reported that she had a window cleaning company out of Hopedale cleaning her windows the day before. On June 27, at approximately 9:27 a.m., the Westborough Police responded to Denfeld Drive for a reported larceny of two expensive rings. The investigators were able to determine that the victim had also hired the same window cleaning company to clean their windows.
Det. Sgt. Glen McLeod and Det. Gary Hassett interviewed Glenn Cummings, 24, of 133 Hecla St., Uxbridge. He was present at both residences doing the window cleaning. The investigation led the detectives to The Gold Loan Company in Woonsocket, R.I., and Elie Jewelers in North Attleboro. All of the stolen items were recovered. Cummings is being charged with two counts of larceny over $250. He will be arraigned in WDC at a later date.

Wednesday. 34 year old James John Connors will spend 11 years behind bars, his wife Josie who's 31, was sentenced to four years in prison at Luton Crown Court today. The pair were found guilty of holding two men against their will at the Greenacres caravan site - discovered following a police raid in Autumn 2011. The couple also forced the men to work for a block paving and ground work business, for little or no money.
One of their 'slaves', a former window cleaner, told the court he was locked in the boot of a car and made to sing nursery rhymes to Josie's children. James John, also known as 'Big Jim' was also convicted of assaulting one of the men over a long period.
It's the first case of its kind in the UK for more than 200 years. Meanwhile, four members of the Connors family, accused of slavery offences in Leighton Buzzard will face a retrial.
Tommy Connors Senior, his sons 27 year old Tommy, 24 year old James and Patrick Connors will likely face a jury in April over charges they kept men in servitude, forced them to work and held them in squalid conditions at the Greenacres Caravan site. Johnny Connors who's 28 years old is to go free, after being cleared of all charges in the original trial.
