A disgruntled window cleaner has taken revenge on his former employer for sacking him - by regularly spitting on their shop windows.

The man has been caught on CCTV camera spitting at the shop in Cheetham Hill, Manchester, at 15 minute intervals every other Thursday, police say. Shopkeepers believe the man is targeting their store in revenge after they fired him for another window cleaner.

Greater Manchester Police wrote on their Facebook page: “We have received a report stating that since October 2015 on every other Thursday a person has been spitting on the shop window in Cheetham Hill. “The male responsible has been captured on CCTV and identified as the prior window cleaner that used to provide the service to the store. The informant believes that this has been done in retaliation for using a different window cleaner. “The CCTV clearly shows the male walking up to the store window and spitting directly at it, then returning approximately 15 minutes later to repeat his habitual routine.”

The culprit's vile actions have been captured on CCTV - and it's claimed he is doing every other Thursday.

Greater Manchester Police say a man has been seen on CCTV clearly walking up to the window and spitting directly at it - then returning fifteen minutes later to repeat the action. The behaviour has been reported every other Thursday. Shopkeepers claim the man was doing this in retaliation after they employed an alternative cleaner.

A window cleaner has fallen victim to vandals for the second time in four and a half months.

In November, vandals smashed the windows of their van and car, and the front window of their home. The most recent attack has been captured on CCTV. Police are analysing the footage. Mrs Parr said: “There was an incident in November where the windows in the van and the front window got smashed. It happened again on Saturday night. “It happened at 11.15pm. Me and my partner were up but we didn’t hear it. We heard the dog barking but we thought it was just being protective. “When we woke up and let the dog out, we saw the window had been smashed again of the van.”

Chatteris man counting the cost of vandalism attack: A Chatteris man is counting the cost after vandals have attacked his van for the second time. Angry window cleaner Jamie Parr was horrified to discover windows on his van had been smashed outside his home in West Park Street on April 4.

In November his car, a Rover MGZR, had to be written off after all of the windows were smashed. Father of three, Mr Parr was expecting to lose money while the van was fixed but has CCTV footage of the attack on the vehicle. He said: “This is not nice for the kids. It just scares them. “It is frightening to watch this happen on CCTV. You see him walking with something shoved up his sleeve.”

Can you name brazen Plymouth window cleaning thief? A brazen theft suspect casually walks into a Plymouth store - before making a run for it with £600 worth of window-cleaning equipment under his arm. The man in this video is wanted by police in connection with the theft, which happened on July 11.

He went unnoticed at the time but bosses at the Tip Top Cleaning Supplies store at Faraday Mill in Cattedown later discovered goods were missing - and this CCTV footage appears to show why. The window cleaning supplies shop only opened in August last year and staff said £600 would be a big hit on the business.

The incident has been reported to police, who are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555111.

Stolen Van Driven Off With Window Cleaner Inside

Thief drives away stolen van with worker inside: A family's livelihood hangs in the balance after their van full of specialist equipment was stolen while a worker was still inside. A 19-year-old window cleaner from Active Cleaning and Maintenance was in the back of the van, which was parked in Dawson Close, Accrington, when a robber jumped in the front seat and sped away. The stunned window cleaner fell out of the rear of the vehicle as it began to move, and quickly jumped to his feet to chase it down the street.

The Ford Transit van was full of specialist cleaning equipment including a water tank worth £9,000 as well as power jets, hoses and ladders, all of which would have been worth around £20,000 altogether. The firm uses the equipment to carry out their services which include window cleaning, power washing, ground maintenance, office cleaning and valets. Without it, the family-run business will struggle to operate and Andrew Wilcock, managing director of the firm, has now issued a £1,000 reward to anyone who finds the van.

Jessica Dowling, Andrew’s daughter-in-law, said: “The van was essential to our livelihoods and we just can’t believe that this has happened. It’s a family business and we are all going to be affected by it. “My partner Ben and I have two young children, a three-year-old and a seven-month-old, and we just don’t know how this is going to affect our income. “We only live round the corner from Dawson Close and it’s unsettling that this kind of thing happens, especially so close to home.”

The theft was reported to the police who said that they would log the registration and let the family know if it was found. The Wilcock family knocked on doors and collected CCTV images. Jessica said: “The police weren’t doing anything and even when we had collected the CCTV they told us they couldn’t come and collect it and we had to drop it off at the station. I know it maybe isn’t a priority to them but the business is in danger of folding.”

A spokesman for Lancashire police said: “We are aware of this incident and enquiries are being made. CCTV has been viewed, but unfortunately on this occasion it has not been helpful to the investigation. If anybody has any information they are asked to call police on 101.”

Teenage attackers have sentence reduced.
FOUR teenagers who were jailed for a total of more than 11 years for attacking an innocent window cleaner will each serve only a year behind bars after appealing against their sentence. The gang of teenagers, all from Blackburn, admitted robbing Ian Dewhurst as he emerged from an off-licence in the town's Granville Road on November 13, 2006. Mr Dewhurst's teeth were kicked out in the attack and he had several ribs broken. All four pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court and were sentenced to terms ranging from 30 months to 38 months of youth custody in January of this year. Three of the youths cannot be named due to their young age, but Yasin Ali Khan, 18, from Preston New Road, Blackburn, who received 30 months, can be identified. The four young men appealed against the length of their terms at the Court of Appeal in London and each had their sentences reduced to two years, of which they will serve half behind bars. Lord Justice Thomas, who sat with Mr Justice Forbes and Mr Justice Roderick Evans, said their previous good character, remorse and progress behind bars justified the reductions. He told how Mr Dewhurst, 47, was left lying injured in the street after the attack by the four youths, one of whom was aged just 14 at the time of the robbery. They got away with just £10 in cash, but were snared by police because the whole incident was recorded by nearby CCTV cameras. After the original sentence Mr Dewhurst said: "The sentence the judge passed is justice in some ways. "They have been shown this behaviour cannot carry on. "This was the second time I was attacked in two weeks - who is to say there isn't someone who will act in the same way as them? "They have affected me in a psychological way but I am pleased with the sentence."
