Hong Kong Crazy

With the recession & anyone thinking they can take up window cleaning on a whim. Here is a couple of videos taken in Hong Kong of someone who has no apparent reason to carry on living. More & more people are taking to the streets cleaning windows with an uneducated handle on safety or having much knowledge either of being able to clean windows.

Tough times hit home in Sauk Prairie: As the economy deteriorates, people in Sauk Prairie are feeling the squeeze. Ed McCaulley moved back to Prairie du Sac in May 2008 to be closer to his 7-year-old son. He had just retired from his job as a long-haul truck driver after winning a large settlement for injuries he received in an automobile accident. "I got enough where I could nurse it and live off it for years," McCaulley said. "I thought I'd take a big chunk of it and put it on the stock market because that's how people make money." Less than a year later he lost nearly all of his savings when the stock market plummeted, and is considering leaving Prairie du Sac because he can't find work. He spent the last week walking through Prairie du Sac and Sauk City offering his services as a window cleaner to area businesses. He found only one taker. "They don't want to pay anything even if the price is cheap. I can't blame them," McCaulley said. "The economy is just too bad." What follows is an economic snapshot of how the Sauk Prairie area is experiencing this deep recession and touches upon the schools, crime, housing and changing shopping habits.
