The Carbon-Light Water Fed Pole from Brodex

Brodex have been designing & manufacturing pure water cleaning systems and water fed poles since 1998. Brodex offer 3 styles of water fed poles, all with different strengths. The Cobra is their premier pole; light rigid and strong, excels at height due to weight and rigidity. The Prolong is hardwearing, light and virtually unbreakable - great for commercial use on large or small jobs. The predator is built with economy in mind. This industry standard pole is suitable for light and domestic jobs. See here for comparisons.

The new Modular Pole from Brodex – THE CARBONLIGHT!
This new Brodex Carbonlight is a flyweight pole with heavyweight capabilities. Modular design means you can easily add or remove sections to suit you work-height. The 36ft bare pole, for example, weighs in at a mere 1.3 kg, using six sections. And even when you move up to the 60ft you’re only lifting 2.6 kg.

The sections are all only 6ft long for manageability. And the widest section is only 49mm in diameter, so you don’t have the wide-grip discomfort normally associated with most extreme-reach poles, often up to 60mm. The pole hose is external, but kept in place by twisting it once round each section you add, and securing it with the quick and convenient Velcro straps supplied. Using the number of sections to suit your working height: the 36ft bare pole, for example, weighs in at 1.3 kg, using six sections. And even when you move up to the 60ft you’re only lifting 2.6 kg.

• Less than half the weight of a conventional telescopic pole
• Lightest 60ft pole on the market (As stated on website, check with other manufacturers!)
• Work comfortably
• For longer periods
• At heights you never thought possible.

Supplied complete with free shoulder holdall. Most extreme length poles are really difficult to deploy. Not the Carbonlight! You can lift it from horizontal and get to all those elusive 5th & 6th floor windows, without “walking” it up the wall. Or, in narrow access areas, raise it vertically, simply adding a section at a time. Extend your round to take in much larger properties and that highly lucrative commercial work.
It’s so light you’ll want to use it for all of your work… so remove a section and carry on working your way down the building. Remove another section… and another… and another and, suddenly, you’ll find you’re using it for the ground floor. The most versatile investment you’ve ever made. All Brodex Poles are 100% Complete, Ready-to-Use!

The Water Fed Pole Doctor UK

Many have suffered the consequences of these light carbon fiber tubes being crushed or stood on in moments of rushing. Now from the UK, a dedicated pole repair can be found from the "Pole-doctor" who specialises in carbon pole repair for all those out there that own one. On the "Pole Doctors" website it states:
"As a small dedicated team with an experienced back ground in carbon composite we pride ourselves on our low prices and high quality repairs and our unequalled customer service.
We understand the importance a pole is within the armory of the modern angler, so we endeavor to have all repairs back in your holdall as quickly as possible. In most cases your valued pole or section is back in transit to you within 48 hours of us first receiving it. We also offer a 24 our service." "No matter how expensive your pole continuous shipping and unshipping will result in worn and split joints at some time. Do not throw your section away, we can repair all split & worn joints to a standard comparable and often better than new and at a fraction of the cost of new."

Above are the before & after photos of a repair. Interestingly enough, they also provide a CCR TOP KIT ADAPTOR which will bridge different sections. "A genuinely exciting new angling innovation! Basically these short, lightweight, high quality carbon sections will do all of the above. In fact they do exactly what they say on the section. If your top kits are too big for your number four you need the top kit adaptor if they are too small you need the top kit adaptor…simple. For example - You have a Browning pole and you decide your new pole will be a Daiwa -Problem is your 8 top kits worth a few hundred quid don’t fit because they are too big. Choice one; sell them on for next to nothing and fork out even more on new ones. Choice two; spend £24.99 including p&p on the CCR adaptor and use all your old top kits and your new ones as well.

Also another company are EPR/Esselle run by Scott Lane in Leicester, and is one of the U.K's leading companies in the field of repairs and refurbishments to carbon fibre and composite fishing poles. The video that was on Sky Sports is worth a look just to see the process involved. All of the work is carried out using the latest grades of carbon cloths and components. Most of which are stronger and more resistant to wear than used by fishing pole manufacturers. This enables them to use thinner and lighter materials than would normally be possible; In turn this means that extra weight and thickness are kept to a minimum when repairs are carried out. Around 99% of all repaired sections will continue to pack away as normal. All EPR repairs are of a permanent nature and should function as new for years.

Then again, if you fancy having a go yourself: Carbonology supplies individuals and trade customers, universities and schools all over the World with composite materials, tools, manufacturing equipment and training - All your carbon fibre needs! Whatever your project, whether you're developing a prototype and require the incredible performance or unique look of carbon fibre, looking for a way of dropping some weight out of your race car, seeking to set up a composites workshop, learn how to manufacture parts in carbon fibre or just need to repair your carbon fibre fishing rod or whatever you need. The team at carbonology have been working in the composites industry for coming up for 15 years - and worked on specific aerospace composites projects back as far as 1989! Between them, they have worked in aircraft workshops, boat yards, mast makers and race car builders - and just about everything in between at some time or other!

The Gardiner Super-lite Pole ®

UK IPO Design Protected ® In conjunction with one of Europe's leading Carbon Fibre specialists, we have developed what we feel is the best way of cleaning high level windows with minimum strain. These poles are so light that they will completely change your method of working. Imagine working with a 45ft pole that weighs less than an 18ft glass fibre pole. It has been said that "it's not a race", but we believe that by using a 'Super-Lite' Water-Fed Pole an operator will be able to work faster with less strain than with any heavy telescopic pole or heavy-weight modular pole. Once you have tried the weight of these poles you will not want to go back to other 'ordinary' poles. Most other telescopic poles become almost unusable at above 45ft due to the length of the base sections. With the Super-Lite, all the sections are the same 5' 7" in length meaning that even average height workers can easily adjust the height of the pole. These poles are part of a modular system that provides quick and easy adaptability. The base SL-35 comes as a 6-section pole with each section pushing into the section above using a super-stiff taper joint. The pole has an external hose which velcro's to the pole allowing quick and easy detachment of sections whilst in use. All other longer pole packages simply add extra base sections and come with appropriately longer hose lengths. The Super-Lite brush weighs an incredible 220g and only 360g with aluminium G-Fit gooseneck attached, which means less weight at your full extension, equalling less strain.

Super-Lite Poles - What work are they suited to?
These type of poles are currently being used throughout the country (UK) by hundreds of operators who enjoy the benefits of a super light pole. They are particularly suited to commercial work where there is a high volume of repetitive work, even at modest heights. They can also be used on any type of work where windows of a high level are encountered. Once you are working with the pole on the job there is no need to change poles for lower work, simply remove sections and carry on working. Even with just one section attached they are ideal for ground floor window cleaning. Whilst we personally would recommend a telescopic pole (perhaps the new 26ft SL-X) for domestic or smaller properties, many users throughout the country find that the benefits of the Super-Lite are such that they use them on most of their work. These poles are ideal for workers with previous injuries or work related strains as they allow the user to continue with pole work where it would not otherwise be possible.

U.S.A. based? No problem.
