Another Window Washer Rescued in Long Beach

High Anxiety: Stuck Window Washers Rescued in Long Beach - Two window washers were rescued from a Long Beach high-rise this morning after they were left dangling from a 14-story building. It happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. at 300 Oceangate when a rope broke from their scaffolding, according to Long Beach fire officials. Both men were prevented from falling by a safety harness that they routinely attach as a safety measure. A search and rescue team was called to the scene and pulled the first man to safety, but a second window washer was left dangling from the side of the building for about 45 minutes. Firefighters were able to rappel down the building more than 15 feet from the roof and get to the man who was calm during the entire ordeal, officials said. A firefighter attached the man to a rope and pulled him to the top of the building without incident. Neither worker was seriously injured.
