Wales: FARM life has turned full circle for a former milk producer who looked to the past when opting to grow fruit and veg. The 55-year-old bachelor can recall the early 1960s when he sat in his dad's veg van as it trundled its twice-weekly deliveries to shops in Llandudno. All the grocery shops have since disappeared and in the late 1960s Mr Williams senior stopped growing vegetables to concentrate on full-time dairying. But in 2005 Emlyn, now the sole partner, looked at his Arla milk cheque and realised it was time to sell his 120 loss-making Holstein- Friesian cows. "I bought myself one of those water purifying systems and set myself up a window cleaning round," he said. On another news site: The Assembly Government re-launches its flagship Farming Connect scheme tomorrow to provide farmers with advice on business development and diversification. One of its Farming Connect heroes is a Llandudno Junction farmer who quit dairying for window cleaning because it paid more!
Knife-wielding window cleaner may face jail. A Millom (NW UK) window cleaner who brandished a kitchen knife in front of a female police officer at his daughter’s 21st birthday has been warned he could go to prison. Mr Gibson said: “The last time he had a drink was on Boxing Day 2006 when he was arrested for disorderly behaviour so as soon as he had this coke with the Bacardi in it, he went loopy.”

The winner in the business category was the Calloway County Public Library. The prize, valued at $250, was a window cleaning, an advertisement with the Murray Convention and Visitor's Bureau and a patriotic frame.
