Window Cleaning Conference Makes The News

The MWCoA window cleaning conference made news... Pictured above: Don Chute, left, demonstrates window washing techniques for Gerd Fischer at the Best Western in Westminster Friday.

Master window cleaners come to Westminster for conference: Despite a persistent light rain, a group of about 15 window washers gathered outside the Best Western Inn and Conference Center in Westminster and went to work. They spent Friday afternoon cleaning the windows at the hotel while they practiced using a reverse osmosis and deionization system, which at least a few were considering purchasing. The demonstration took place on the first day of the Master Window Cleaners of America seminar, which is expected to draw more than 100 window cleaners from 17 states and Bermuda in Westminster today.

Those who arrived Friday took turns washing windows. Organization director Jack Nelson said hotel management agreed to waive the $500 fee for its conference room in exchange for having all its windows washed. Nelson agreed and spent Wednesday afternoon crouched near the front lobby hand-washing the glass near the check-in counter.
