Window Cleaner Jumps to Safety as Cherry-Picker Catches Fire

Man jumps to safety after cherry picker starts on fire: (MADISON) - It was a close call for a window washer on Madison's west side Saturday. James Heisig says he was washing windows at Bankers Bank near Mineral Point and High Point Roads, when the cab of his cherry picker caught fire. Other workers couldn't get the life to go down, so Heisig says his only option was to jump to the roof of the bank. 27 News asked Heisig what was going through his mind at the time, "A ladder, someone get me a ladder," he replied. "I really didn't want to jump to the roof, but everyone was shouting jump, and I did." Heisig was not hurt. The truck, though, is considered a complete loss. No word from officials on what caused the fire.
