WackJob Window Cleaner Wins WipeOut

Yeah, it's not easy to hold on, but Travis Montgomery of Newport Beach managed to hang in there long enough to make it through the Wipeout Zone in a fast time of 4 minutes 57 seconds, good enough for a win and the $50,000 prize that comes with it.
Another Orange County man wins $50,000 on ABC’s ‘Wipeout’ - Travis Montgomery might be the Window Whack Job to the hosts of ABC's "Wipeout" but he also earned another title on the goofy reality TV competition show on Thursday: Winner.

Montgomery, a window washer from Newport Beach, became the second Orange County man in two weeks to take home the $50,000 prize that goes to the winner of the show. A week earlier Daniel Fritz of Coto de Caza won his episode on the series.

"I'm super pumped!" Montgomery yelled as he was about to start the first of three different obstacle courses on the show. "I've got 200 people in Newport Beach watching!"

His exuberant style of mismatched Hawaiian print shirt and shorts and confidence – he repeatedly shouted at hosts John Anderson and Jon Henson to just go ahead and write his name on the check – earned Montgomery the Window Whack Job nickname but he was nothing but serious when it came to blazing through the courses.

A friend of Montgomery's tipped us to his victory, and slipped us his phone number, but when we called we got a message that his mailbox was full. Everybody loves you when you've got a fresh $50,000 in your bank account, we suppose.

But ABC had plenty of photos of Montgomery diving, flipping, falling and slipping through the course, so take a spin through the slide show and see how the window washer cleaned up. Travis Montgomery, AKA "that" guy, was dubbed Window Wackjob because he's a window-washer who yells at any given opportunity.

Travis Montgomery shot down the Flume of Doom, a seven-story water slide, and after splashing down in a huge pool clambered up into a complicated rotating maze, out of which he scampers here on his way to winning $50,000 on the episode of "Wipeout" that aired Thursday, Aug. 18.
That's O.C.'s Travis Montgomery taking a fall at the bottom of the photo as he tries to make his way through the Total Carnage section of 'Wipeout' on ABC
Here we see Travis Montgomery of Newport Beach about to enter the Double Barrel, a two-chambered spinning contraption made even more difficult by the fact that you get blasted from head to toe with colorful goo and foam.
Probably our favorite new contraption on the "Wipeout" course is the Fly Swatter which relentless battered contestants -- seen here is Travis Montgomery of Newport Beach, the eventual winner -- complete with a splat of green bug goo.
Things don't look promising for Travis Montgomery of Newport Beach as he takes a shot on the Double Carnage portion of "Wipeout." But it's rough for everyone, and Montgomery ended up finishing this stage of the competition first, sending him into the Wipeout Zone where he won $50,000.
